What significant action did you complete?
The paper mache pinata in the third grade doesn't count. I agree, let's add some constraints to the inquiry. You got it; a non-work related significant action you wanted to complete in the last 12 months.
So, what was it?
This posting is initially published before the halfway point in December. Now is a time we start to consider the actions of the past year and look to the next. But there is still time for the current year.
The resolutions are the throw-away idea since the end of January finds them in shards at our feet. What was that one action you genuinely wanted to accomplish that would challenge you?
I committed to participating in a spoken-word poetry open mic night as well as sharing in a storytelling event. Neither of which I have accomplished yet. This blog was conceived in bitter February, born in the downpour of April showers, and consumed my creativity since. I will complete the spoken-word element of the commitment by the new year. I will post a video of the result.
Some are still standing at the starting line with me. Now is the time to make a mess of things and do the final push to make it happen. This is the equivalent of pushing out the last reps of a workout, to achieve the PR, and leave yourself gassed.
The community is cheering for you! Finish well.
Some have been pushing through the ups and downs, and stops and starts of any important action with the end in sight. Grit your teeth and do the reps. The muscles are weary, but not spent. The weight of the medal hanging on your neck is light, and the view from the podium is always better than standing in the crowd. Keep pushing!
The remainder has stood on the podium and tasted the victory of a dream achieved and action complete. I respect you for sticking to the task and seeing it through to completion. Congratulations on your achievement. I trust the result was as profitable as envisioned.

Going Further: How did your priorities fluctuate over the year and challenge the possibility of completing your action? What will you do differently for next year to mitigate the challenges?
